BOB Sport Utility Jogging
Stroller
|
 |
Although this was my first time with an actual jogging
stroller, it seems just right for me. It's has great traction and is quite easy to push. My initial
concern was that it was going to be a challenge to get turned on uneven terrain, but it really is
easy enough to turn... and my son is very happy with his new limo... though he usually is fast
asleep! |
But there's More to Jogging Strollers...
than the average shopper would think... so when we decided to check out the BOB Sport Utility Stroller we knew we
had a lot to look over.
Being far more reminiscent of a mountain bike rather than a street bike, the BOB Sport Utility
Stroller conjures up one word labeling along the lines of rugged, stable, and maneuverable.
This jogger stroller sits atop a sturdy aluminum frame that includes adjustable shocks absorption,
which in turn results in an outstanding suspension structure that produces a comfy cruise for baby, even on dirt
paths.
Knowing how you're going to be using a baby stroller is a big step in finding and getting the
stroller that you will be happy with. So let's first get the details on the BOB Sport
Utility Jogging Stroller.
If you're an active parent and looking for a baby stroller to keep up with your lifestyle, you'll
want to take a serious look at this one because among other things this stroller is built to last you through
several kids and all kinds of terrain.
We know that trying to find good used strollers is not an easy thing to do and there is a reason
for this... people keep them in the family for several kids and even grand kids.
With this particular stroller accommodating a decent maximum weight limit of 70 pounds along with
adjustable shock absorption options your son or daughter's trips will be just as comfortable as they grow
older.
The padded seat is made from long lasting, stain-resistant polyester, while the shoulder harness is
padded for additional comfort. Cozy and comfy are vital key elements for any child riding along if you want to keep
your outdoor fresh air and exercise time from being uninterrupted by a cranky infant who's not enjoying the
ride.
What the BOB Sport Utility Stroller Brings to the
Table... The stroller is designed to go anywhere that offers a great solution for those active
parents that want to get some jogging in without having to wrestle with the stroller if they want to get off
the beaten path.

The BOB Sport Utility Stroller Ain't No Mall Rat...
If you're looking for a stroller that shines its brightest in the jungle known as the mall, then this isn't the
stroller or the stroller class that you should be looking into. The BOB SUS is an outdoor kinda guy and is quite serious about it... and you should be too
if you're looking at buying this stroller.
Even though the BOB Sport Utility Stroller is a fixed wheel stroller, even with its 16-inch inflatable tires, it
still remains quite maneuverable over all types of outdoor terrains. How tightly a strollers tracks is a very
important feature for the active parents that put their strollers through the walking and jogging paces. If a
stroller tracks loosely and has a tendency to drift from one site to the other, it makes it difficult to enjoy your
jog or walk because you'll constantly have to keep wrestling the stroller to keep it on the straight and narrow.
The BOB SUS features an adjustable tracking feature that adds more comfort as it minimizes this annoying drift as
you walk or jog.
So what are the downsides... Wheels and maneuverability
are probably the probably the single most important feature when it comes to picking out the right stroller
for your lifestyle. By in large the most common lament (and there aren't many) of the BOB SUS is that the
front wheel is fixed and this makes it more difficult to turn as opposed to a swivel wheel.
Keep in mind what and why you are looking at this class of baby stroller. If you do any type of fitness walking
and especially jogging, you will not want anything but a fixed wheel. When you are out getting your fresh air and
exercise with your baby, the last thing you want is to have a swivel front wheel that wobbles all over the place.
Swivel and non-fixed front wheels are great for those casual strolls through the malls and tight crowded places
because they are designed for the "turn on a dime" environments, but this type of design is relatively useless for
outdoor activities.
No parent wants to have to buy a stroller for every type of environment and scenario, but the BOB SUS offers a
very nice alternative.
The bottom line is... if you lead an active lifestyle this stroller offers a good blend of toughness and
maneuverability.
What are the folks saying...
Babies come in all different shapes and sizes and parents come in all types of when it comes to what features
and functionalities are the most important to them and what they use their strollers the most for. So, let's take a

It gets the job done!
This stroller is very well made, heavy duty, good quality and the ride is very smooth, even over grass,
broken sidewalks, dirt, you name it. |
 |
Amazing stroller!
Very comfortable and it's really easy to recline the seat when my daughter gets sleepy during our
outdoor cruise.
|
 |
We love it
Our little girl (and we) feel safe with the stroller and it really does easily go over all kinds of
different surfaces with very little extra effort.
|
 |
The front wheel won't swivel!
I didn't realize that the front wheel doesn't swivel and this makes it very hard for me to turn it. I
wish I would have gotten the one with the swivel wheels. |
 |
It's pricey
The down side of the stroller is the price; wish it could of been a little cheaper but on the other
hand it's seems well worth the price in terms of the quality of the stroller.
|
 |
We can't live without it
My husband and use this stroller just about every day. He probably takes across more difficult and
rougher terrain than I do, but the stroller doesn't mind and neither does our son. |
 |
Difficult to adjust the straps
I couldn't quit get the gist of adjusting the straps... but maybe it's just me. As the seasons and the
weather changes (more bundled up to less) I seem to struggle somewhat with the strap adjustments. |
 |
A must have stroller for different terrains
We use it for both jogging and hiking and it works great. Because it is made for the outdoors it is a
little bulky to store, but we would absolutely recommend it. |
 |
Works great for me! The stationary front wheel works great for
jogging... and even finishing my jog with a long sprint to the finish. I bought this stroller so I
could work out with it and get my shape back and it fits the bill. |
 |
Well worth it
I did a lot of research and every type of stroller has its pros and cons. My husband and I do a lot
of walking and jogging on trails and this stroller is just the best.

Awesome stroller!!
Very rugged yet comfortable, and lots of storage. This definitely isn't a mall stroller, but if you
love the outdoors, this is definitely the one to go with. |

Should You Choose the BOB Sport Utility
Stroller?
Once you have had your baby and you are ready to get out of the house, then one of the first things on
your mind might be jogging, walking, or some kind of hiking.
Unfortunately, with traditional strollers, that is virtually impossible for a variety of reasons. But with the
Bob Sport Utility Stroller, you will have a safe and secure place for your child while you also have an easy
stroller for you to push in front of you while you get your workout on.
What Does It Have?
First of all, the Bob Sport Utility Stroller has a fixed front wheel, which is preferable for anyone going on
long walks or jogs. Because the wheel is fixed, you won’t find yourself constantly struggling to keep the stroller
in line. While you may think that it is harder to steer this kind of stroller, this one is not difficult at all.
Even if you are going to take it on a shopping trip, it is still easy enough for you to steer through the
store.
This is also a very lightweight stroller that has an easy, two-step folding ability. That means that
it will easily fit in your car or storage and is great on planes, too.
“Definitely worth the investment. The BOB is the best around!”
- Kevin, Amazon.com
How Is the Ride?
Obviously, you want a ride for your child that is smooth, and although most people think that a large front
wheel would mean a smoother ride, that is not always the case.
With the Bob Sport Utility Stroller, the reason why the ride is so smooth is because it has an adjustable
suspension system, much like a mountain bike would have, so that you can pick the right suspension for the right
kind of terrain.

“This is sturdy but light and easy to handle. Surprisingly easy to turn with lots of shade for the
child.”
- Mihaela, Amazon.com
What About Accessories?
This stroller is a little light on accessories and storage, primarily because it is designed as a jogging
stroller and not your everyday stroller, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t add accessories to it. This works
with all other BOB products and you can easily put in an infant car seat adapter or a snack tray.
It is also compatible with accessories that go with Graco, Peg, Perego, and Chicco products. But there is an
accessory tray that you can buy for this stroller that will enable you to hold two water bottles, your cell phone,
keys, and whatever else you might need.
Comfort
Even though you are looking for a stroller that is comfortable for you to push, you also want your child to be
safe and comfortable, too. The Bob Sport Utility Stroller has a super-padded, adjustable seat that reclines and a
five-point harness so your child will be safe and secure at all times.
This is designed for children up to 70 pounds, the stroller itself weighs just 25 pounds, and it is designed to
provide you and your child with miles’ worth of running, walking, or hiking through the first years of your child’s
life.
Is This for You?
If you are eager to get out of the house, as most mothers are, but you want or need to take your baby with you,
then this is a great way for you to get the exercise you need while your child has a safe ride.
It is a very sturdy yet highly designed product, one that is as good in snow and sand as it is on concrete, and
you will enjoy many miles with the BOB Sport Utility Stroller.
